otoño en la costa del sol

Autumn arrives and the province of Malaga continues to offer visitors numerous treasures to discover. Autumn is the ideal time to discover the interior of the province, diverse and rich and full of possibilities that will show you the best corners, the best cuisine and the most interesting folklore. We discover these proposals to enjoy autumn in the Costa del Sol.

The Copper Forest

Our first autumn proposal on the Costa del Sol will take you to the Serranía de Ronda, specifically to the Genal Valley. In this area you can enjoy one of the most impressive autumn prints in the interior of the province of Malaga. The Genal Valley is an abrupt area covered with chestnut trees whose leaves, when autumn comes, fall covering the mountains of browns, yellows, oranges and ochres.

The municipalities that form the Copper Forest ( Alpandeire, Benadalid, Benalauría, Cartajima, Faraján, Genalguacil, Igualeja, Jubrique, Júzcar, Parauta, Pujerra y Yunquera ) have an enormous tradition around the chestnut. Visiting them at any time of the year and especially in autumn is a unique opportunity to discover beautiful landscapes, a tasty gastronomy and numerous parties, some declared with the Tourist Singularity for their provincial interest.

Enjoy the wines of Malaga

Malaga has a centuries-old winemaking tradition that today is recovering all its splendor thanks to the recovery of the vineyards and the creation of large broths throughout the province.

If you want to enjoy the history of the wines of Malaga and know the work that the wineries do, we recommend you participate in any of the activities offered by the Route of the Wines of Malaga and Ronda, which includes visits to wineries or tastings. Unlike other areas of the peninsula where wine is produced, it has a very rugged orography. This results in landscapes with sloping vineyards and in which the most traditional collection methods are preserved.

Companies like Cicerones Rurales, Milamores or Enoexperiences Axarquía will bring you closer to the wineries and vineyards of the province of Malaga.

Great Path of Malaga

The Great Path of Malaga is a unique route in Andalusia that runs through all the landscape and environmental diversity of the province of Malaga. This route, 745 kilometers divided into 35 stages, allows hikers to enjoy the diversity offered by the municipalities of Malaga: from the beaches and cliffs of the Axarquia coast, to the mountain landscapes of Ronda, the valleys full of orchards from the Guadalhorce or the plains of the northern area of Malaga. In autumn, there are numerous companies that offer routes interpreted by the Great Path.

Ecoreserva Ojén
